“I Will Trust In You” heard in China (and parts of Mississippi!)

This past summer a group of families from the Church at Brook Hills (Birmingham, AL) made the 22-plus hour flight to China, with the express purpose of ministering to people through English classes and outreach events, and to build close personal relationships with believers. Project leader Joan Watkins e-mailed George not long after their 3-month trip came to a close, to comment on a CD copy of his song “I Will Trust In You” given to the team before departure.

‘Thank you for the CD you allowed us to carry to China. It was a great strength to me. I listened to it almost every day during my quiet time. I used it in group Bible study at least once every week. We were able to sing phrases from the song and the scripture like "when I can't find my way through the Bejing Airport" and "when I am afraid of the way God is stretching me" and when "I am tired of the smell of body odor and sewage." You were part of the team in China. I even shared it with some of my students and explained the meaning of the words and showed them where they were in the Bible. God used it, used you. Thank you.’

Joan and her team are not the only people enamored with the song. George’s long-time buddy Kevin Williams (based in Columbus, MS) regularly features “I Will Trust” in his youth worship events all over the South. George and several members of the Project Onefifty band regularly join Kevin as part of his band. Check out Kevin’s site at www.kevinwilliams.org.
